Canadian Cozy Burger
2020 has been quite the year to say the least. Eventful in some respects and yet repetitive all at the same time. We could all use a comforting text or call from a friend in times that can feel so isolating. To help with the covid craziness, we’ve created the Canadian cozy burger. This comforting snack can get you through quarantine and the most brutal of Canadian winters. Every now and again we deserve something so decadent and satisfying that is the ultimate comfort food.
Simply follow this recipe and indulge right along with us during the holiday season!
Recipe (Makes 8)
1 lb of ground beef – I prefer an 80/20 ratio for a juicy patty.
½ white onion, chopped.
1 minced garlic clove
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons of your favourite barbecue sauce.
12 strips of quality maple bacon (cook separately before making your burgers)
Hamburger buns
——————————
Simply mix the ground beef, chopped white onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and barbecue sauce in a mixing bowl and combine using a fork.
Using your PATTY UTENSIL, fork in the mixture into the thick side of the tool.
Cook on the grill to your desired doneness. If you’re using quality ground beef from a butcher, I like to take mine off when they’re medium rare. I also encourage you to add a slice of delicious smoked cheddar to the burger in those last few minutes on the grill!
Add two strips of bacon and condiments of your choosing and you’re ready to dive in!
…We’ve all had ample time to perfect our banana bread recipes at the start of quarantine. It’s time to amp it up a bit with burgers combining Canadian classics!
